NTR housing scheme was introduced by the government of Andhra Pradesh in the fiscal year 2016 to help residents of the state with affordable housing opportunities. The scheme caters to the housing needs of underprivileged citizens of the state and focuses majorly on –
Providing permanent housing opportunities to underprivileged candidates.
Helping reconstruct existing houses that need repair.
However, the government has laid out criteria that need to be fulfilled by the candidates to be able to avail the benefits of the scheme.
The NTR housing scheme can be broadly categorised in two sections –
PMAY – NTR Gramin.
PMAY – NTR Urban.
Individuals as per their needs and eligibility can apply for any of the NTR housing schemes mentioned above.
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must be a state resident to claim benefits under the NTR housing scheme in Andhra Pradesh.
Individuals who have a BPL card or white ration card are eligible to apply for it.
The plot will have to be registered in the name of the applicant to avail of the benefits.
Applicants shouldn’t have any other property registered in their name which is under any other government housing scheme.
Individuals who qualify the above conditions can easily avail of a home loan from a reputed HFC and benefit from the interest subsidy offered by this loan.
Subsidy offered to a beneficiary
Beneficiaries under the NTR rural housing scheme are liable to benefit from interest subsidies of Rs.1.5 lakh.
Candidates belonging to reserved category (ST/SC) can enjoy an additional subsidy of Rs.50,000.
Beneficiaries of PMAY NTR Urban scheme can avail a subsidy of up to Rs.2.5 lakh.
NTR housing scheme aims to meet the housing needs of underprivileged households and those belonging to the economically weaker sections in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
